About Us
What to expect with us
Discovering a new parish is a daunting process, just like finding a new home! Maybe you are visiting this section because you are interested in Catholicism? Or perhaps you are moving/have moved into the area? Are you looking for a church to visit while on holiday? Even more nerve wracking is the prospect of returning to Church after a period of time away. Whatever your reason for coming here, you can expect with us a warm welcome.
The Parish Team
As a first introduction to our communities say ‘hello’ to our parish priest, Fr. Tim McGrath. Why not make yourself known to him after Mass? He will be happy to welcome you to our parish and point you in the right direction with any questions you may have. If you don’t want to approach Fr. Tim straight away why not introduce yourself to our Deacon Philip Manghan or contact Sarah in the parish office.
Fr. Tim McGrath
Fr. Tim has been back with us since September 2016.
Becoming a Catholic
Thinking of becoming a Catholic? Don’t know how? Each year thousands of adults make the decision to join the Catholic Church. They come from a lot of different backgrounds, some faith based, some not. Anyone can become a Catholic, they follow a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
RCIA preparation usually begins in the early autumn with weekly meetings take place to prepare the candidates for baptism or reception into the Catholic Church at Easter. You may be nervous, but listen to the invitation of Jesus who says “Do not be afraid”. The RCIA programme often proves to be a good opportunity to make some new friends.
Whatever your background, whatever has brought you to this stage in life, give thanks for this moment, embrace your past and live for the present. If you wish to find out more about becoming a Catholic or wish to register for RCIA please contact the parish office.
